Opportunities for Female Academics

We want to specifically promote female scientists and network them within terahertz.NRW. Our platform for this is “Women in THz”. We offer you exclusive career development and mentoring programs, career events such as the Science Campus or interesting keynote speeches (e.g. on specialist topics, compatibility of family and career). In this way, we want to inspire even more female scientists for terahertz research.

Impulse sessions #WednesdayForWomenInTHz

 

To all women who are already part of the terahertz.NRW network and who are aiming to become one:

We invite you to our exclusive impulse session series #WednesdayForWomenInTHz. In various (interactive) lectures you can deepen your interests and ambitions outside of research and network with other “women in THz”. Topics such as balancing family and career, resilience, scientific work, successful promotion, leadership and much more will be covered.

 

What can you expect from the next lecture?

 

“Self-marketing for women” – this is the topic of the next keynote lecture, which awaits you on November 27 from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm. You will receive valuable impulses and insights as well as answers to these and other questions:

  • How do I promote myself as a woman in STEM?
  • Why is self-marketing important?
  • What influence do gender stereotypes have on individual visibility?
  • How do I deal with stumbling blocks?

The aim is not only to use my visibility to advance my career, but also to support other women in STEM professions.

The lecture combines scientific findings, personal experiences and practical reflection exercises. Of course, you will also have the opportunity to ask questions and share your experiences.

The lecture language is English. The lecture will be held on MS Teams, participation is free of charge. The event will not be recorded.
